Maths Recovery Masterclass
Mathematics Recovery Masterclass with Catherine Staunton Unsworth
Saturday 10th May 2025 10 am to 11.30 am via TEAMS
Title: To better understand Dyscalculia and Maths Difficulties and how to support learners using Maths Recovery.
A look at current definitions and assessment of Dyscalculia and Maths Difficulties. Gathering evidence and who can diagnose Dyscalculia. Why some learners can’t “do maths” and how to support them through Maths Recovery intervention.
Catherine is an Advisory Teacher for Wigan LA where she advises on the teaching of Mathematics for the Targeted Education Support Services. She has a Post Graduate Certificate and Diploma in Dyscalculia from Edge Hill University and completed a MEd in SEND where her research focused on Maths Anxiety. Catherine has been an active member of the Maths Recovery Council UK since 2008. She is a Trustee, member of the Executive Committee and has been involved in organising and presenting at Maths Recovery Conferences in the UK.
